WordPress Site Move – Error : Warning: file_exists() April 23, 2013
If you are attempting a migration between servers,then you see this error
Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/var/www/server1/foo.com/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/server2/:/tmp:/usr/local/lib/php/) in /usr/home/server2/domains/foo.com/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 500
All you need to do, is look in your MySQL DB at the top level, run a search against your tables and it should show you where the problem file path is, (WP-options)
From there you can edit the old location with the new one, save and close,
Refresh your site and everything should be fine.
